Deputy Comptroller BL Adigun has taken over the reins of leadership at Kirikiri Lighter Terminal (KLT) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service as the Acting Customs Area Controller.

Adigun took over from Assistant Comptroller General E.J. Edelduok yesterday, December 5, 2025, during a formal handover ceremony held at the Command’s conference hall as Edelduok was recently elevated to the management team of the Service.

The event drew senior officers, representatives of partner agencies and industry stakeholders, who gathered to witness what many described as an orderly and well-coordinated change of leadership consistent with Customs’ administrative tradition.

In her remarks, Edelduok thanked the Comptroller-General of Customs and the management team for the opportunity to lead the Command.

She described her tenure as both “fulfilling and impactful,” attributing the successes recorded at KLT to teamwork, professionalism and the support of officers and stakeholders. She urged them to extend similar cooperation to her successor.

In his acceptance speech, Adigun expressed appreciation to the Comptroller-General for the confidence reposed in him and commended Edelduok for what he described as exemplary and results-oriented leadership.

He pledged to consolidate the Command’s achievements while prioritising revenue generation, trade facilitation, anti-smuggling operations and operational integrity.

He also called for sustained collaboration with stakeholders and charged officers to remain disciplined and committed to the Service’s mandate.

Highlights of the ceremony included the signing of handover documents, the symbolic presentation of the Service’s flag and group photographs marking the formal transfer of authority.

With the new leadership in place, the KLT Command says it is poised to deepen partnerships and enhance service delivery in the months ahead.
